Kunal Kemmu is spending his self-quarantine time with his daughter Inaaya

Like everyone else, actor Kunal Khemu and his wife Soha Ali Khan are locked in their homes for the past ten days. Like his brother-in-law Saif Ali Khan, Kunal is keeping busy with his child and using this unexpected time at home to be with his daughter Inaaya.

Says Kunal, “I am at home pretty much like everyone else. We are all trying to stay positive and stay strong but most importantly stay at home. Besides spending lots of playtime with Inaaya, I’ve been doing various things like writing, reading, music, little bit of cooking and catching up on some movies and shows as well.”

Kunal feels now is the time to catch up with all the activities that never get a chance. “The lockdown has given all of us the time that we sometimes thought we didn’t get enough of to pursue a hobby, read a book or just lay back and do nothing for a while. It’s given us an opportunity to stop and think about so many things that we took for granted.”

However, Kunal is trying to lead a disciplined life even while work stands still. “Soha and I are trying to still maintain some kind of discipline when it comes to not sleeping late and waking up early.”

He is also trying to stay fit indoors. “I do exercise…Not every day but yes, I have been trying to do a mix of free weight training and some yoga. I have suddenly found more time to do some fun stuff on social media as well which you can see on my Instagram and Tik Tok page. But we wake pretty much at the same time every day. Our bed time might fluctuate but wake-up time remains constant, thanks to Inaaya. Maybe we are eating a little more but nothing at an alarming rate. I’ve been cooking a little bit as well, so yeah been experimenting with a couple of things.”

Kunal’s advice to the public in this prolonged period of home-bound existence? “Set a schedule, get some exercise, limit your screen time, find a hobby, keep your hygiene in check, keep in touch with family and friends especially older relatives over the phone and video calls. Play board games, read a book, try cooking new recipes and most importantly stay home and stay safe. This too shall pass.”
