EXCLUSIVE: “The show must go on but first safeguard your family”, says Aamir Ali
While we have officially hit the peak of the pandemic with no relief from the virus in near future, the majority of businesses have resumed work with the entertainment industry restarting the shoots. Actor Aamir Ali who was recently shooting for the first leg of his web series Black Widow, an Indian adaptation of the popular Finnish show by the same name, in Kolkata returned to Mumbai earlier this week.
The actor who's also starring in another web show Naxalbari, checked himself into a hotel after his return from Kolkata & voluntarily took the COVID-19 test. Now back home, Aamir shares, “Though we were exercising extreme caution & took precautions on the sets, there is always a slim chance of the unknown virus to enter your lives & how. I also travelled by air so the exposure was a lot more. I stay with my mother & there was no chance I was returning home or taking a risk as senior citizens are more gullible & susceptible to the virus. So I got myself tested for COVID-19, checked in at the hotel & waited for results, and only once I got a negative, then I went to my house.”
Aamir adds, “I completely support the fact that the show must go on, a day shoot can provide bread & butter & put food on the plate of so many people. I appreciate I have work during a pandemic and I'm grateful for it. The show must go on but we have to equally take responsibility for the ones who are more vulnerable & fragile & we must do all it takes to safeguard the elders in our family.”
