BTS' V makes symbolic additions to ARMY room with meaningful message ahead of ‘BE (Essential Edition) release
'BE (Essential Edition)' is just around the corner. Every day, there's new content released by global popstars BTS released to the new edition of their chart-topping album. An ARMY room illustration was created by BTS, similar to their room versions that were released back in November 2020. Kicking off the ARMY room illustration with Suga, it was followed by RM, Jungkook, and Jimin who made some additions to it, and now it's time for V to add his ideas to the room!
"When working on music, I've found the same song can give a dramatically different feel depending on how you listen to it. I listen with a Bluetooth speaker and CD but I've heard that a record has the best kind of sound that's why I wanted to put a turntable in ARMY's room. It would be even better if you listen to a song with someone else. Listening to the same song together is like sharing emotions. Why don't you give it a spin when you invite friends to your room? I think I hear jazz from Sammy Davis Jr. or Frank Sinatra from this turntable, perfect to give warmth on a cold winter day," says V in the voiceover.

"I was thinking what object from my house would look good in ARMY's room and I decided on a vase as a gift. It doesn't particularly stand out from my things, there are no elaborate adornments or colors, but oddly enough it always catches my eyes. The branches reach out haphazardly but the more I look at it, the more this lack of order becomes appealing. If you have something that's weighing on your mind, don't think too deeply. Just do what your heart tells you to do, like those branches that go every which way. Eventually, you'll become as naturally beautiful and as eye-catching as that vase," he adds.
A record player and a vase seem like simple additions but the thought behind them is momentous. V mentions how it is important to do what you feel is right instead of struggling with those emotions. It is important to free yourself from self-doubt and a stressful state of mind and that's what V is trying to convey!
Adding the record player in the room is quite a nostalgia-filled moment! Music can heal you, make you feel emotions on a heightened note, and definitely is an ice-breaker to start conversations with your friends or someone new. Music has played a significant role in 2020 for many when the times got tough in the quarantine. The distinct quality of V is he embraces vulnerability and never hides his emotions which was seen in 'Blue & Grey', a pop ballad track in 'BE'. These are very simple things but holds deep meaning and V's way to look at it is to not let your shine dim but instead be expressive, let out your feelings, and see the difference in you!
The earlier new content were special voice guide notes of the songs including Suga's notes for 'Telepathy', RM's notes for the lead single 'Life Goes On', Jungkook's notes for 'Stay', Jimin's notes for 'Dis-ease', and V's notes for 'Blue & Grey', J-Hope's notes for 'Dis-ease', Jin's notes for 'Stay' and BTS' notes for 'Fly To The Room'.
'BE (Essential Edition)' drops on February 19, 2021, two days before the one year anniversary of their record-breaking full-length album 'Map Of The Soul: 7'. The Grammy-nominated group is set to perform a special edition of its MTV Unplugged franchise, MTV Unplugged Presents: BTS. The worldwide music event will build off the iconic series with a fresh new take Tuesday, February 23 at 9 PM ET (February 24, 7:30 am IST) exclusively on MTV in the US and will air around the world beginning February 23.
