EXCLUSIVE: "I still go through those fears even now” – Lucky Ali reveals how his songs were not easily accepted by music labels
Lucky Ali is the man behind the magical voice of some of the most iconic songs including ‘Ek Pal Ka Jeena’, ‘Na Tum Jaano Na Hum’, ‘O Sanam’ and ‘Tere Mere Saath Jo Hota’. The singer-songwriter even emerged as a significant figure of Indi-pop during the 1990s and early 2000. Recently, he has also released his new song ‘Rehe Na Sake’ in collaboration with Indian-Iranian band Narang. The singer has come along a long way in his journey wherein the type of songs he used to sing earlier wasn't easily accepted by the music labels.
Now, in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Lucky Ali opened up about choosing what he likes and wanted to despite music labels not accepting it. He also talked about the platform Sound Of Society. He said, “Yeah, I got the opportunity, so no complaints in the sense. Like, I still go through those fears even now but that's in all aspects of life of trying to get across and you try to express it in the best way you can.”
Lucky Ali further talked about the importance of platforms like'Sounds Of Society, a genre-free, no-rules, and inclusive platform for singers to present their musical talent and performing arts. When asked does he feel good about the fact that such platforms exists, he replied, "Of course, I mean at this time, this kind of a host made whatever we want to call it. Lots of musicians don't have the opportunity to express their talent and the Sound Of Society is doing something like that wherein they are promoting artists in the sense that all the artists and Narang were new, so it was more about them, it was more about the talent that they are trying to promote and get good musician together to work with artists like me for example and it's the other way around actually. So, it's a good amalgamation and it's a good connect for like-minded artists and stuff.”
