15 Years of Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna: Preity Zinta shares a heartfelt note; says "Karan said If this film worked, divorce would be in"

Preity Zinta took a trip down memory lane on Wednesday to commemorate the 15th anniversary of Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. She expressed her admiration for director Karan Johar's portrayal of marriage's complications.

Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Preity Zinta, Abhishek Bachchan, and Amitabh Bachchan starred in the film Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (KANK), which dealt with adultery and seeking love outside of marriage.

Rhea's marriage begins to fall apart after her football coach husband Dev (Shah Rukh Khan) has an accident that keeps him out of the sport for the rest of his life and makes him bitter. As Rhea's work progresses and she becomes the family's income, her frustrated husband becomes increasingly insecure, often transferring his misery onto her accomplishments.

Alongside a video of her song ‘Rock and Roll’ from the film, Preity wrote “Wow! It’s been 15 years I still remember the first time Karan mentioned this script to me. We were in London, he said ‘Darling, if this film works then the divorce will be in.’ We laughed as I thought it was one of his jokes but it wasn’t & soon I was stunned by the way he handled the complexities of marriage & life in this film. It really did shake me up in more ways than I could have imagined. I’m so grateful I was a part of this amazing movie & will never forget how nervous I was shooting for some of the scenes. It truly was something else. Here’s a big hug to everyone that made this film possible & made us rock n roll.”

Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna was released on August 11, 2006
